Course syllabus

What you study.

Three short sections that explore how to use your authentic self as a career superpower while navigating professional environments and fostering inclusion.

Topics covered
  1. The Many Components of Identity — identity as the unique collection of characteristics, experiences and affiliations that shape you; external labels versus how you define yourself; and the tension between your identity and the “work identity” often adopted to fit in.
  2. Imposed Identity in the Workplace — how “us versus them” thinking leads to unfair generalizations, and using active listening, note-taking and curiosity to interrupt self-doubt.
  3. Preserving Authenticity at Work — building meaningful relationships by being proactive and seeking advice, resolving tensions with empathy while staying true to your values, and setting healthy limits on work.
